The Partnership for Central America Establishes Partnership With Diversio

On Wednesday Oct 26, The Partnership for Central America (PCA) established a collaborative  partnership with Diversio to explore practical, business-led solutions to drive economic opportunity; address urgent climate, education, and health challenges; and promote long-term investments and skilled workforces in Central America.

Together, The Partnership for Central America and Diversio are sending a signal of hope to the people of Central America and sustainably addressing the root causes of migration by promoting economic opportunity, especially in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. This includes encouraging private sector actors to draw on their unique resources and expertise to make commitments to support inclusive economic growth, overcome obstacles to investment and build a more transparent and favorable business environment together with national and local governments, and promote economic opportunity in these areas of Central America.

On May 27, 2021 the White House, through the Office of the Vice President, announced a Call to Action that challenged businesses and social enterprises to draw on their expertise and entrepreneurial spirit to take concrete actions to help improve economic opportunity in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. The Call to Action is a U.S. government initiative serving as a component of the government’s comprehensive, long-term strategy to address barriers to investment and to promote economic opportunity in the region.

The partnership between The Partnership for Central America and Diversio will assist in accomplishing those goals. Diversio will support PCA by serving as a trusted advisor and industry expert on PCA program development and ensure that the resulting practices align with those of other programs. When established, PCA will share their practices for engagement between the private sector, governments, relief agencies, international organizations, and non-profit organizations, and help shape a more collaborative ongoing dialogue among them.

Diversio will be providing information and guidance enable PCA to channel corporate partners’ attention and resources in a manner that advances social and economic development in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.

The Partnership for Central America

The Partnership for Central America is an independent, non-governmental and non-partisan organization that serves as a coordinating body of Vice President Harris’ Call to Action to advance economic opportunity across underserved populations in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. The PCA works with a multi-national coalition of private organizations in collaboration with governments, non-profit groups, and private philanthropy to mobilize and coordinate private investments to help ensure a measurable and sustained impact on the people of Northern Central America for a better life in their homeland.

“We need the private sectors’ help to build an economy that works for women and for all. In this moment of transformation, I believe that change is possible if we make it together.” – Vice President Kamala Harris
