This third part of the Indigenous Inclusion Training series is designed to gain skills in developing techniques for integrating Indigenous knowledge into strategic planning processes, as well as alignment and purpose. Course participants will connect organizational goals to Indigenous engagement initiatives.

Understanding TRC's calls to action & their relevance

  • Gain knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action and their significance in reconciliation efforts.
  • Understand the relevance of the TRC's Calls to Action in the context of organizational goals and Indigenous engagement strategies.

Developing achievable goals

  • Identify and set attainable and measurable goals aligned with the organizational mission and the objectives outlined in the TRC's Calls to Action.
  • Connect organizational goals to the broader community and Indigenous engagement initiatives, fostering alignment and purpose.

Incorporating Indigenous knowledge into strategic planning

  • Integrate Indigenous knowledge into strategic planning processes, leveraging insights from Canadian Elders and Indigenous communities.
  • Explore strategies for incorporating Indigenous perspectives into decision-making and organizational strategies.

Navigating implementation & ensuring accountability

  • Develop implementation strategies, assess progress, and identify actionable steps towards achieving reconciliation objectives.
  • Establish transparent communication channels to share progress, ensure accountability, and foster trust within the organization and with Indigenous communities.
