Throughout this workshop, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how respect is defined within the workplace context, explore examples of disrespectful behavior in its various forms, raising awareness and promoting accountability for maintaining a respectful workplace environment.

  • Establish connections between diversity, inclusion, bias, stereotypes, and respect, recognizing their interrelated nature within workplace dynamics.
  • Assess the behaviors and attitudes that contribute to fostering respect and human dignity in diverse organizational settings.

Identifying disrespectful behaviors

  • Explore various forms of disrespectful behaviors, including microaggressions, microinequities, harassment, discrimination, bullying, and violence, understanding their detrimental impact on workplace culture.

Response strategies to disrespectful behaviors

  • Discuss response options for addressing disrespectful behaviors, offering guidance on how to navigate different situations and roles within the organization.
  • Implement suggested strategies for responding to disrespect, emphasizing the importance of calling individuals in or out when necessary and promoting accountability.

Promoting a culture of respect & inclusion

  • Examine proactive measures for promoting a culture of respect and inclusion, including strategies for addressing harassment, discrimination, and bullying in the workplace.
  • Encourage participants to reflect on their own behaviors and attitudes, fostering a collective commitment to creating environments that prioritize mutual respect and human dignity for all individuals.
